“You Need To Believe In Yourself”

It’s a phrase coaches often use, but how does anyone truly gain that self-belief? Confidence isn’t something you can simply purchase.

Teach – Don’t Tell

Just talking about confidence isn’t enough.
With PACT, coaches will acquire practical methods to cultivate mental resilience, empowering young athletes to go on to reach their full potential.

What’s Covered In The Course?

Understanding confidence, identifying negative thinking, and much more.

The PACT programme is based on real-life experiences. We talked to coaches and students to discover what they think about confidence, how it can be affected, and why it’s important. You’ll hear some of their insights in the course.

Module 1: What is Confidence and Where Does It Come From?

Discover the key characteristics of confidence that players need to help them cope at the level they are
playing.

Module 2: The Confidence Spectrum

Confidence ranges from low self-esteem to arrogance, and a happy spot somewhere in the middle. Understand where each of your players fit at all times.

Module 3: The Significance of Self-Belief

Teach children to recognise and stop negative thinking by showing them how to convert unhelpful thoughts into
positive beliefs.

Module 4: What Can Affect Confidence On & Off the Field?

It can be affected by issues at home, in school or by other outside influences. This module will help coaches when giving advice to those experiencing a spell of underperformance.

Module 5: Setting the Right Environment

The final module examines the effects of negative coaching and the important aspects of positive coaching

“We Are Taught Many Useful Things In School, Unfortunately Mental Fitness Is Not One Of Them” -Dr. Alex George

The ultimate goal of PACT is to give coaches the ability to teach their players how to identify negative thinking patterns, while empowering them with the skills to dismiss the fears that hinder their self-confidence.
